Let The Tea Parties Begin! #14

Stimulus Porkulus: What the Hell Have
We Got Ourselves Intous?
PT 14: WOOHOO! ANOTHER $13 BUCKUS!

Over the couple of weeks leading to Tax Day (April 15), I'm going to be dissecting the economy and the stimulus, budget and the various other issues that have unfolded between banks to AIG to tea parties all over the country! I had bookmarked a lot of articles since the end of January and it's interesting to read them with perspective and "read between the lines."

Go Tax Cuts!

In case you didn't notice the change on your pay check starting this spring--and if you didn't, I could totally see why...--you're getting a little moolah back!

About $13 buckeroos!

The Big O campaigned for a $500 per worker credit. It was scaled back to $400 by Congress.

This Breitbart piece notes "Officials estimated it would mean about $13 a week more in people's paychecks this year when withholding tables are adjusted in late spring. Next year, the measure could yield workers about $8 a week. Critics say that's unlikely to do much to boost consumption."

Gee, what a shock. But look at the positive side. What can you do with about $52 more bucks a month:

Dinner at Outback for 2 (sorry, doesn't include tips...Guess we need a TIP BAILOUT!)

ONE Box of candy at the movie theater! HA!

Half a pair of Steven Madden Luxe at DSW

A subscription to Martha Stewart Living For You and a friend!

51 Hamburgers on the dollar menu at McDonald's (sorry that doesn't include tax...Guess we need a TAX BAILOUT!)

And when it goes down to 8 bucks--hopefully someone other than TOTUS will be in charge!
